Most important tasks(MIT) in a day- how to use your day efficiently and make it productivity

--

We will have tons of tasks, including personal and business-related tasks, coming up in a day, and if we prioritize them well, we can handle the nonstop things. A to-do list is quite a standard tool for people, but its power will be reduced if we add all the tasks.

To recommend a better way to handle our tasks, I will start with the concept of 'eat your frog in the morning,' meaning that we get all the most essential tasks as the day's priority. How to do it? Refer to the evaluation points below.

it brings the most impact or the most significant value

it hurts as time goes

from the most critical stakeholders, such as your parents, children, boss, etc.

Put those tasks in if they meet any one of the above criteria.

The best volume to control per day is in three bullet points. But do we need to complete all three points we list for a day? It depends. Some tasks are prolonged so that they may last for a couple of days. Some tasks need a group of people to be involved, which takes time. So, the critical thing is to list the tasks to remind yourself of them, work on them as they make the most significant impacts, and then set daily milestones.

Here is the process and format that can help you set your daily MITs

MIT form
  1. list your MITs, together with the stakeholders' names. This can be helpful to be prepared for the meetings.
  2. Split down a few sprints that help the MITs. i.e., prepare the deck or rehearse the presentations
  3. Plan your breaks, save some time for recharging (better with specific time)
  4. Move those extra needs or extended questions to the parking lot. This sector will be the reference for the end-day review and the reference for your MITs the next day.
  5. Review MITs at the end of your day.

This simple tool and format can help you prioritize your tasks and give you a way to prepare your daily plan and a method to handle exceptions. Keep this action rolling, including daily MITs and MIT reviews; we can all improve our productivity scientifically and agility.
